WAIVER OF LIABILITY:

Student and parent or guardian signing below do hereby understand and agree that his/her participation in the CHICO SCIENCE FAIR is and shall be without liability to the Science Fair or any of its agents, employees, or assigns.  Participant and parent or guardian freely consent and agree to participate in the fair and do waive and release any right that he/she may possess to bring suit against the CHICO SCIENCE FAIR, its agents, sponsors, employees, assigns on any theory to recover loss, damage, or injury received or caused as a result of participation in every and all aspects of the Science Fair, including but not limited to any preparation for participation in, or traveling to and from such fair. 

Student and parent or guardian signing below will be responsible for picking up the project after the Fair. If NOT picked up, it is understood that the project will be discarded. 

POLICY ON RESEARCH INVOLVING HUMAN PARTICIPANTS:

Carefully think about your project and consider what you will ask participants to do.  You want to be sure that everyone who participates in your project is protected from physical and mental discomfort and harm.  A good question to ask yourself is, “How would I feel if I were participating in this activity?” Be courteous and respectful to those who participate in your project.  Remember that each individual is helping you by participating in your project. Respect a person’s freedom to decline to participate.  Do not force anyone to be part of your project against their wish. We will comply with these requirements if we use human participants.
