This year's banquet will honor D. Rico Munn, DUDL's 2013 Hall of Fame Inductee.
Rico Munn serves as the 16th superintendent of Aurora Public Schools. Munn is a strong educational leader in Colorado. In 2012, he was appointed to the 15-member Board of Governors for the Colorado State University
System by Governor John Hickenlooper and currently serves in this position. From 2004 to 2007, Munn served on the Colorado State Board of Education. He was a
member of Governor Bill Ritter’s Cabinet where he served as the executive director of the Colorado Department of Higher Education from 2009-2011.Munn also served on Governor Ritter’s Cabinet as executive director of the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies from 2007-2009.Munn has also been a successful attorney and practiced commercial litigation
with a national law firm from 1996-2007 and from 2011-2013. Munn is active in the metro area’s non-profit community. He served as a foundingco-chair of the Denver Urban Debate League from 2008-2013.
