In Sister Mother Husband Dog, Delia Ephron brings wit and effervescent prose to a series of autobiographical essays about life, love, writing, movies, and family. In “Sister,” she captures the rivalry, mutual respect, and intimacy that made up her relationship with her older sister and frequent writing companion, Nora. Her observations on modern living include the joy of girlfriends; a consideration of the miracle of dogs; haunting recollections of life with her famed screenwriter mother; and growing up the child of alcoholics. Delia Ephron’s movies include The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, You’ve Got Mail, Hanging Up and Michael. Tony Award winning actress Joanna Gleason will join Delia to host an on-stage interview.
Admission is $25. Tickets include one copy of the hardcover book, which are available for signing. Proceeds help support WSHU Public Radio. Additional books can also be purchased at the event. The “Join the Conversation” series is sponsored by IKEA New Haven and the Wyant Simboli Group.
