The five lessons to be unveiled in this session offer you a "backstage pass" to this woman's life experiences and the associated lessons learned. Learning has been the central means by which she has achieved any kind of success; personally or professionally. And just for the record - many lessons have been learned the "hard way." Being a business owner for over 20 years and alive for considerably more, discovering your true, authentic self (even if your hair is dyed) has been very much a part of Kathleen's journey, a trip she looks forward to sharing. This compelling keynote address will get our day started on the right foot!

It's Not About The Hike!

We all have our own mountains to climb. They may be four thousand footers in the White Mountains, but they may be bringing up children, or caring for aging parents. They may be going to school, tackling a difficult project, dealing with an illness, or searching for your passion in life. This presentation is not a presentation of "look at us, look what we did." It is a presentation of "look inside you, you can do this, too." It's Not About The Hike is for everyone - hikers and non-hikers, people who are sedentary  or active, outdoor enthusiasts or indoor homebodies, 10 year olds and 90 year olds and everyone in between. The presentation is not about the hike; it is an inspirational and motivational program about pushing ourselves outside of our comfort zones, overcoming our own fears, finding our passions and living our lives to the fullest. This is a multi-media extravaganza including movies, music and photographs. It is both humorous and touching, as the speakers share from their hearts about their personal lives in a way that makes the message and learning universal.

As of January 2011 Pat Piper and Nancy Sporborg have reached the summit of over 190 mountains, hiked over 1,250 miles and gained over 336,000 feet in elevation. They have completed climbing the 67 4,000-footers in New England and have 12 left to complete the 100 highest. They know the mountains, the trails, the pitfalls and what is required physically, mentally and emotionally to reach the summit. They are exceptional leaders, motivational coaches and enthusiastic cheerleaders and have worked extensively with groups.
