Previous LARE Preparation Courses offered by our chapter have ranged from $300 - $450 so we are offering a substantial savings for our members this year. Please review the following information and register immediately if you are interested.

Dr. Tom Nieman is a Professor of Landscape Architecture at the University of Kentucky. He has been involved with landscape architecture licensure for many years. Presently he serves on the CLARB Board of Directors and is President of the Kentucky Landscape Architecture Registration Board. His licensure preparation experience includes writing, pretesting and grading national exams. Since the late 1970s he has presented review sessions in numerous states and Puerto Rico. He is a member of the ASLA subcommittee on L.A.R.E. preparation and has presented review sessions at the ASLA National meeting for the past 12 years.

His mantra is: Most often, those who fail do not do so from a lack of knowledge. Rather, they fail because they do not know how to take the exam. You can pass.

Dr. Nieman's focus is to not only help you memorize information on the exam but to give you the tools you need to pass it. He will review test strategy, new exam specifications and the broadening of the exam over the last year. He will PROVIDE DIGITAL STUDY MATERIALS making the purchase of additional study material such as PPI and Shake and Bake unnecessary.

 His session will be the last Saturday in September (9/29) as outlined below:

• 8:00 am - Intro to the exam and outline of the prep course
• 9:00 am – Section 1
• 10:30 am – 15 min break
• 10:45 am – Section 2
• 12:00 pm – Lunch (Provided by Anova Furnishings)
• 1:00 pm – Section 3
• 3:00 pm – Section 4
• 5:00 pm – End Session / Happy Hour

Please bring your own laptop.  Participants will follow along with Dr. Nieman and will have digital resources downloaded onto your computer.  You are encouraged to attend the entire session as there are no discounts for partial session review.  Due to the steep discount, we need to cover expenses and break even allowing the participants the opportunity to attend Dr. Nieman's session at over half the normal price offered during the ASLA Annual Meeting. Lunch will be provided by our sponsor, ANOVA Furnishings.
