Designing For Pollinators: Lecture & Honey Tasting 

Governor Hickenlooper has declared June as Colorado Pollinator Month!  ASLA Colorado is hosting a lecture in downtown Denver to spread the awareness of pollinators and their value in the urban environment. Come get informed about this issue, registration includes a honey tasting and your own seed bomb.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • Learn who our top pollinators are and what plants they like best.
  • Learn how to incorparote pollinator habitat into every design.
  • Learn strategies on how to converse with clients and educate them about pollinators.

SPEAKER BIO:

Deryn Davidson, MLA, CSU Horticultural Extention Agent

Deryn Davidson holds a B.S. in Horticulture from Colorado State University and a Master’s of Landscape Architecture from the University of Arizona. Her passion for native plants and pollinators grew during her time as a horticulturist at the Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin, TX.  Currently, Deryn is the CSU Horticulture Extension Agent for Boulder County, a position in which she is able to help educate the public about the importance of pollinators and their habitat, good design, and responsible horticulture practices.
