Webinar (Web-based workshop)
Course: "Sport Wagering Among Staff Members at NCAA Institutions: Prevalence Rates and Best Practices for Education and Prevention".
Date and Time of Course: Thursday, February 25, 2016, 12:00 noon EST (9:00 am PST; 5:00 pm UTC/GMT).
Event and Location of Course: Webinar.
Cost: $75.
Time Allowance for Course: 1 hour (60 minutes).
Course Description: The webinar will review the latest ground breaking research on NCAA Division I athletics department staff members' (athletic trainers, athletics academic advisors, strength coaches, and equipment managers) gambling behaviors. The new reseached revealed that athletics staff members are gambling and wagering on sport at a rate similar to NCAA student-athletes. Too often, institutional, athletics department and compliance efforts focus solely on education and prevention for student-athletes. This occurs despite the fact that athletics department staff members are held to the same NCAA legislation regarding sport wagering. The webinar also will discuss risk management best practices to educate and monitor in an attempt to prevent/limit these behaviors.
