Course: “High School Summer Seminar Series: Best Practices to Address FHSAA Hearings and New NCAA Rules for College-Bound Athletes.”

Date and Time of Course: Wednesday, August 5, 2015, 3:00-5:00 pm ET.

Time Allowance for Course: 2 hours (120 minutes).

Session Description: Buckner's 2015 High School Summer Seminar Series will provide useful strategies for high school principals, assistant principals, athletic directors, guidance counselors and other school officials in two sessions:

  • "Best Practices When Your School Has an FHSAA Issue or Hearing": This session will identify best practices to address instances when a student-athlete or sports team is declared ineligible for Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) competition.
  • "Primer on the New NCAA Initial-Eligibility Rules": This session will review the impact of the new National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) initial-eligibility legislation package for college-bound high school student-athletes.

Who Should Attend?: High school principals, assistant principals, athletic directors, guidance counselors and other school officials with athletically-related duties.

Materials: Each participant will receive: (1) the PowerPoint presentation; and (2) a handout.

3:00-3:05 pm: Welcome and Housekeeping

3:05-4:00 pm: "Best Practices When Your School has an FHSAA Issue or Hearing"

4:00-4:10 pm: Break

4:10-4:45 pm: "Primer on the New NCAA Initial-Eligibility Rules"
