Course Description and Benefits:The webinar is designed to provide officials with the International Olympic Committee, National Olympic Committees, International Federations, National Federations, Anti-Doping Organizations, Major Event Organizations, state athletics commissions, professional sports leagues and promotions with strategies to comply with the intelligence-gathering provisions of the World Anti-Doping Code and applicable testing, fact-sharing and investigating protocols. The program will discuss why intelligence-gathering is an important element of a comprehensive anti-doping program. Further, the online workshop will review how an organization can establish a process that collects and examines PED-related information and data from various sources on a recurring basis. Finally, the webinar will outline the key benefits of an intelligence-gathering process, including: (1) compliance with the World Anti-Doping Code or applicable law; (2) protection of an organization’s brand, as well as contracts with television partners and commercial sponsors; (3) detection and mitigation of potential concerns (before an athlete’s issues become headline news); and (4) evaluation of the efficacy of anti-doping and drug-testing programs, as well as the flexibility to recalibrate for new PEDs or innovative methods to mask PED usage.
