What is a Sibshop? Sibshops are for brothers and sisters of individuals with disabilties. It is a workshop that provides young siblings with peer support and information, in a lively, recreational setting. Here is a short video introduction to Sibshops.
Who can become a facilitator? Professionals, service providers, parents, adult sibs, and others interested in running a Sibshop. Our training is also open to Teen Sibs, aged 16 and older who have participated in WisconSibs programs or attended our Teen Leadership training.
During the two days of training, you will:
*there is an option to attend day 1 only for education purposes on sibling issues, but both days must be attended to become a certified facilitator
Upon completetion of this training you will be a Certified "first-generation" trained Sibshop Facilitator and (upon registration in the Sibling Support Project directory) may start your own local Sibshop. You will also be added to our WisconSibs facilitator list to contact when hosting WisconSibs Sibshops around Wisconsin.

Training Run Down
Day 1: June 9, 2023 8:00am - 3:30pm at Lambeau Field in Green Bay. Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. Day one will consist of training materials on sibling concerns, hearing from a Sibling Panel, and how to organize a Sibshop.
Day 2: June 10, 2023 9:00am - 3:30pm at West Boys and Girls Club of Green Bay. There will be a light breakfast and lunch will be provided. Day two will consist of Sibshop prep, demonstration Sibshop, and debrief. This will be a fun and active day with the children. Come prepared in comfy casual clothing and tennies.
There is a Sibshops book all about preparing and planning for a Sibshop. The current version can bepruchased here, be aware there will be a new edition coming out yet in 2023.
