GoodSpeed Off-Leash Overnighter 219:
A Sub-24 Hour Overnight Bikepacking Adventure!

July 14-15, 2018

A Saturday afternoon to Sunday morning bike camping tour to Indiana and back...sneak away for some mid-Summer bike fun!

GoodSpeed Cycles Off-Leash Overnighter 219 is a bite-sized, lightly supported bikepacking adventure that helps you get out on two wheels for precious get-away-from-normal-life time under the sun and stars. The Off-Leash Overnighter 219 gives you and your family a chance to sneak away from Homewood Saturday afternoon, spend a beautiful night of camping under the stars at Lake County, Indiana's Oak Ridge Prairie (along the Oak Savannah Trail!), and return Sunday morning before your busy life even knows you were gone.

Where, when, & how far
This second of three Off-Leash Overnighters leaves GoodSpeed Cycles, 2125 W 183rd Street in Homewood, Illinois at 1:00pm on Saturday, July 14 for a 20-mile roll on quiet neighborhood streets and paved regional bike paths to Oak Ridge Prairie near Griffith, Indiana, for a night of tent camping under the stars.

We'll roll home to Homewood early Sunday morning (20 miles back), July 15 at 8am after breakfast, having slipped some adventure into our back pocket to get us through the week a little more relaxed, and looking forward to the next Off-Leash Overnighter. Kids welcome!

Both dinner and breakfast are included
You bring your bike loaded with the camping gear and supplies (tent or hammock, sleeping bag, extra clothes, guitar, ghost stories, etc...) you need to make it through spending a night outside.

Fee:
Bike campers 12 - 112 years old - $65
Bike campers 0 to 11 years old - Free!

New to camping by bike? We got you covered!
Attend our Bikepacking 101 how-to class & open house (with beer, wine & other beverages! and food!) at GoodSpeed Cycles April 12, 7pm-9pm

In the first hour, we'll cover:

  • What bike's good for bikepacking - guess what: probably yours! We'll show you how with bags and accessories from Rogue Panda and Wolf Tooth
  • What bikes are AWESOME for bikepacking - Featuring Trek's bikepacking adventure rigs, the 920 and 1120
  • What makes camping gear good for bikepacking - Featuring tents, sleeping bags and pads from Big Agnes
  • What the heck to wear bike packing - Featuring outerwear and cycling apparel from W.L Gore.

From 8pm-9pm you get to ask questions, tell stories, handle the goods, and generally geek out over bikepacking with other bikepacking people.
