Private Instrument Lessons 

Musical Chairs is a boutique music school in Chicago's Lincoln Square neighborhood specializing in highly individualized music instruction to meet the needs and interests of our students.  Children and Adults are welcome.  We teach the classic fundamentals of theory and instrument technique, while choosing, together with the student, a progression of repertoire that is enjoyable and reinforces their goals.

We are proud to provide only the highest quality and experience in our teaching staff.  We offer lessons in:

Lessons run 30 - 45 minutes per week depending on the student's level.  Generally, lessons are offered to children beginning Kindergarten and older.  For Kindergarten children, we prefer, but don't require students to have participated in our Step the Beat program to give them a strong initial music foundation.

Semi-private lessons are offered when like aged and level students are available for lessons on the same day / time.  If you are interested in this option, please specify when registering. We will work to identify another student for pairing.  Please note due to the difficulty in rescheduling multiple students, make ups for missed lessons are not available with semi-private lessons. 

For adults, scheduling can be more flexible including a Bi-Monthly program for 45 minute lessons every other week.  

Lessons are can be held at our Lincoln Square studio location, at Queen of Angels or St. Matthias Elementary School as part of their after school programming.  We will also offer in home lessons on a case by case basis. Transportation charges will apply.

To inquire about lessons, please select the Register button below and tell us of your interests and times available.  This does not obligate you to lessons and you will not be charged until your lessons are arranged. We will contact you directly to schedule a time / instructor that best meets your needs.  Private lessons are accepted on a rolling basis.

Tuition:

Semi-private 30 minute lessons:  $20 per lesson (note: make ups not available for semi-private lessons)

Private 30 minute lessons: $35 - $40 per lesson

Private 45 minute lessons: $50 - $60 per lesson

Private 60 minute lessons: $65 - $80 per lesson

Rates vary depending on instructor. Advanced Students (higher level instructors):  $40 per 30 minutes or $55 per 45 minutes

In Home Lessons offered on a case by case basis.  Transportation charges will apply.
