Step the Beat Music Fundamentals Fall 2017

 

Step the Beat is an intro to music course designed for our youngest budding musicians who are preschool ages 3-5. Through the 100 years of combined teaching experience, the instructors of Musical Chairs have witnessed proven results when music concepts are introduced at the preschool level.  Results include everything from a increased musical aptitude to an early grasp of math and reading concepts.  We introduce basic music concepts in a fun and interactive manner utilizing a modified approach of Hungarian educator Zoltan Kodaly.  The Kodaly method is widely accepted worldwide and uses age appropriate folk songs, rhythm symbols, movement and singing to cover four main areas of focus:

**  Note Reading  **  Rhythm Essentials  **  Ear Training **  Sight Reading **

Session runs September 11th - November 17th  Tuition: $200.00  

Classes are limited to 10 children.  For classes held at school, students are picked up directly from their classrooms upon dismissal and taken to class within the school facility by authorized Musical Chairs instructors. Parents and caregivers pick up children after class or the children can be taken to the school extended care program.

  - Tuesdays  11:15 - 11:45 am

  - Tuesdays from 3:15 - 3:45  

  - Wednesday 11:15 - 11:45 am 

Location:  Musical Chairs Studio 2124 W Lawrence Avnue:  

  - Saturdays 10:00 - 10:30 am

* For Kindergarten through 1st grade, this year we are introducing a new class called Step into Piano. Click here for more information:  STEP into PIANO.

Additional classes are available based on interest and held at Musical Chairs Studio. A minimum of 4 students is required to create a new class.  Parents are welcome to collaborate with friends for a day and time that works for you and we'll provide the instructor.
