CHAPTER CHAMPIONSHIP 2015 - MAY 31st 

 

Join the first leg of the largest women's amateur golf tournament in the country.  This year's competition will be held at the Sycuan Golf Resort in El Cajon on the Willow Glen Course on Sunday, May 31st. It will be an 8am shotgun start.  Sycuan is our largest sponsor and, due to their generosity, we are able to subsidize your participation fees and charge you only $48 including golf and lunch and awards following the competition.  You will also need to pay the national fee of $50.

Low gross and low net winners of the Chapter Championship in each flight and the winning scramble team will advance to the Semi-Finals which will take place at our own Maderas Golf Course here in Poway on June 27th.  And winners at that level will advance to the Finals which will take place in Palm Springs at the Westin Mission Hills Golf Resort on October 30 and 31.  We are very fortunate that all competitions are in our own neighborhood this year!!

All skill levels are welcome-it's not just for low handicappers!!  Whether you are a seasoned golfer, or new to the game, the Chapter Championship provides a venue to experience competitive golf among friends and in the spirit of fun.

This competition is open to members with a handicap index between 0.0 and 40.4.  All competitors must be members in good standing and have posted at least two 18-hole rounds in the current year before completing your registration.

Practice rounds will be available on May 30th (registration will open later) or you may practice on your own at any time.

You have your choice of formats as follows:

Individual Stroke Play: competition will be conducted on both a gross and net score basis, and is flighted by handicap index as follows: See Championship-Participant Information-Stroke Play in the Player Documents tab of the national website noted below.

 NOTE - In addition to registering locally, you will also need to register at www.ewgachampionship.com and pay both the national fee of $50 and our local costs of only $48.

For the national registration process, have your Handicap Network ID# ready. It also asks for the yardage from which you normally play to establish your handicap.  For the majority of EWGA SD members, this is 5201-5400 yards.  You will also need to provide the verification website or phone number for your handicap service (GN21-use ewga.com, GHIN- ghin.com, Other - provide your home course website or phone # where your index is maintained). On the Available Sessions section of the registration, at the bottom of the page scroll forward until you can select San Diego Chapter on May 31.
