OSCF 2014 STATE QUALIFIER

Tournament Details:

Saturday, October 25, 2014

 Check In: 8:15 - 8:45 AM
Start Time: 8:15 am   End Time: 4:00 pm

Cost: 
$25.00 per player.  Two sibilings $40; Three $50

(The family discount will be refunded to you at check-in if you pay on this site)
Please register by Tuesday, October 21st . 

Late entry is $40 with no family discount until Thursday, October 23rd, 2014

Equipment:  
Please bring chess clocks if you have them.  
(Boards and pieces will be provided.)

Awards: 
To the top three finishers in each section.  Four sections:  Primary, Elementary, Middle School, and High School.

Plus score award for all that score at least 3 points.

Team Trophies to the top two Elemenary, Middle, and High School.  Team award based on your 4 highest scores.  The number of players from anyone school is not limited.

DOOR PRIZES:  Local businesses have donated various items which will be awarded simply by chance after the first round.

Description:
The tournament is open to all scholastic players of any playing levels. It is run as an individual tournament to reward individual performance, as well as a team-based tournament, where awards are given on the basis of top four scores for any team.

• All K-12 players of all levels are welcome to play.
• This tournament is NWSRS rated. No annual membership fee or prior tournament playing experience required.
• Participation in this tournament counts towards the OSCF State Championship tournament attendance requirements.
• All sections are NWSRS rated. Latest NWSRS ratings will be used for pairings.
• Ties will be broken by computer only (Tie break order- Solkoff, Cumulative, Opponent’s cumulative)
• Bring clocks, notation (if you have) & pen/pencil. (Boards, sets & limited amount of notation paper provided.)
• Parents/coaches bring comfortable chairs.  Bring chess sets, games & books etc. to keep busy between rounds.
• 100% Pre-Registered Event. No on-site registrations accepted. Online registration through www.oscf.org


Byes:  You may request a bye for any round.  All byes must be requested by October 23rd.
