2017 Bank Management Conference 

For much of the past decade community bank leaders have done a tremendous job of staying the course and navigating through an industry where red (stop) and yellow (proceed with caution) lights signified multiple challenges, including economic, political and regulatory constraints stemming from the Great Recession. Many chose to exit through the active M&A environment. While consolidation will continue and caution will, and should be part of an industry built on managing risk, 2017 has begun with an excitement about banking that we haven’t experienced in years. An upward moving rate environment, political hints of deregulation, a renewed pro-business mindset, and the return of denovo bank formations are all clear indicators of the ‘green light’ bankers have to return focus to core banking operations, asset growth and their commitment to maximize value for the communities and stakeholders they serve.

CenterState Bank’s 2017 Bank Management Conference, through entertaining and informative General and Breakout Session presentations, provides a forum for community bank CEOs, senior officers and directors to network with peers. Attendees will gain valuable insight and actionable strategies to take home to the bank.

The General Session will begin with a discussion on the top themes shaping our industry today and the associated opportunities and/or threats they provide. In the midst of an attractive lending environment, our Capital Markets team will identify strategies for the bond portfolio and the best alternatives for the balance sheet to complement loan growth. Breakout Sessions will review a diverse set of topical issues, including in depth presentations on preparation for CECL; FinTech emergence and new charter approvals; advanced lending techniques through loan hedging; and best practices through cash management products in gaining efficiencies, improving revenues and attracting new customers.

Multiple keynote speakers will highlight the General Session. Joe Keating, a frequent Fox Business News contributor and CenterState’s Chief Investment Officer and Head of Wealth Management, will share his entertaining commentary on the economy. Former U.S. Representative and Past Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Mike Rogers, will discuss his experiences and expertise in dealing with cyber-crime, one of the newest and most significant strategic challenges facing the United States today.
