 Seasonally-inspired,
New American
with an Italian Influence

Genevieve's Kitchen is one of Doylestown's gems. Intimate and cozy. New American cuisine with a good dash of Italian thrown in.

Up until a year ago, Genevieve was the owner/chef. But when she and her partner, Karen, decided to open up a new restaurant on the Jersey shore they soon realized it was a stretch to manage both eateries.

Enter Chef Joey Mcalinden. He and Genevieve go way back.

"Genevieve and I worked together at a Trenton restaurant called Amici Milano when she was 18, and I was 26. And we've stayed friends all these years. When she was opening Seaside, I went down to help her. One night we started talking and she said, 'What do you really want to do?', 'cause she knew I was over corporate life. I said I wanted to open a taco stand in Morrisville. And she told me I was too [bleeping] talented to do that and that her and Karen would like to sell me the business in Doylestown."

Chef Joey Mcalinden And she was right, as anyone who has dined at Genevieve's in the past year will tell you. Joey spent over 30 years cooking at Amici's and his talent shows. He's also having a lot of fun in Doylestown.

"We change the menu every three or four months and we try to stay as seasonal and local as possible. I do a lot of research to find good local cheeses, local produce, local free range chickens and all kinds of cool food which I really love working with. I like to take the classics and give them a little twist.

"I have a very talented young chef named Brett Mason that keeps me focused on the new way cause I'm kinda old school. He teaches me something every day. And for an old man to say somebody teaches him something every day, that's going some."

Join us on Sunday, October 6 at 6:00 pm and be prepared for a delicious and fun evening. We will have the restaurant all to ourselves. It's a great space, with an open window to the kitchen, where you can watch Joey and and Brett at work. After dinner, Joey will hang out with us, chatting and answering any questions you might have.
