Summer Wine & Dine
at Wycombe Vineyards
& Fancy Fig
Café

I'd like to take you to two of my favorite local spots.

The Fraser Family began Wycombe Vineyards in 2000 on 65 acres of preserved land that has been in their family since 1925. Their vision is to create a European-style winery — smaller, estate, family-owned.

Wycombe Vineyards

Since 2005, they have been producing fun, interesting wines with vinifera and French Hybrid varietals. Tucked away in Forest Grove, sitting on their lovely deck, you'd think you were miles away in some famous wine valley. [See our post, A fifteen dollar staycation, for more about the winery.]

Lisa Brymer began her now very successful catering company ten years ago. To our delight and joy, she has found a home in The Gathering, a quaint, historic collection of buildings, sitting on Second Street Pike in Penns Park.

Last August she opened the Fancy Fig Café, just two minutes from our house. It has become one of our favorite spots for breakfast and lunch. Among the locals, it's a best-kept-secret. I hope I don't get in trouble for telling you all about it!

We'll begin the evening at Wycombe Vineyards with a tour and tasting of 8 of the vineyard's 15 wines, specially chosen to pair with the delicious dinner to follow at the Fancy Fig Café, just a five minute drive away.

Tomato _ Gorgonzola Salad Dinner will be served in the Historic Gaines House, originally a farm house built in 1810. The front porch and side patio will be a great place to hang out, drink some wine and feast on seasonal, locally sourced cuisine. Scroll down for the full menu.

Join us on Friday, August 4 for this fun, summer evening. BYOB, of course.
