This class looks at how we are impacted by the events that collectively affect humanity and the planet.

 Our Yuan Qi functions at the level of survival of the species and mitigates our response to global changes.  These are micro-evolutionary responses, and they take place in the marrow via the 8 Extraordinary Vessels and Curious Organs networks. This impacts our Jing-essence, an attribute of the Po.

The I Ching is an ancient system that also has a resonance with our Yuan Qi and marrow. The I Ching is a system for understanding the art of timing, an attribute of the Shen and the Hun. The Yuan Qi is the meeting place of Jing and Shen, of Hun and Po.

This class will look at acupuncture treatment strategies for assisting the Yuan Qi in adapting to the internal and external stressors of modern life.

 Peter Shea, L. Ac., is a practitioner of Chinese medicine. He is   an instructor, a clinical supervisor and the Clinic Director at   Daoist Traditions College of Chinese Medical Arts in   Asheville, NC.  He has been a professional bodyworker for   over 20 years and a Licensed Acupuncturist since 2003.  He   teaches workshops on the 8 Extraordinary Vessels, Tui Na,   Qigong and the I-Ching. He is the author of “Alchemy of the   Extraordinary: a Journey into the Heart of the Meridian   Matrix,” published by Soul Pivot Press and available on their website or through amazon.com.   He lives outside of Asheville, NC in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
