The Gulf Citrus Growers Association Presents…
UF/IFAS, SWFREC Scientific Update!
You are cordially invited to attend GCGA’s first member luncheon of the year! The luncheon is scheduled for 11:45 a.m. February 1st at the Dallas Townsend Agricultural Center in LaBelle.
During the past couple of years...efforts have been underway to “revitalize” the UF/IFAS Southwest Florida Research and Education Center in Immokalee. Since returning to the SWFREC, Dr. Calvin Arnold has led an aggressive effort to recruit and hire key scientists aimed at addressing the most pressing needs of the region’s citrus growers, vegetable farmers and other AG commodity producers.
Come and meet the Center’s newest scientists and learn what they are working on! Brief updates by Plant Physiologist, Dr. Ute Albrecht; Citrus Plant Pathologist, Dr. Ozgur Batuman; Soil Microbiologist, Dr. Sarah Strauss and Weed Scientist, Dr. Ramdas Kanissery will focus on current and future research, as well as their respective interests and plans while at the SWFREC in Immokalee!
