Homeless Health Care Los Angeles is excited to announce no cost, regional training opportunities in collaboration with United Way that are available throughout Los Angeles County.
Course title: Care Coordination and Systems Navigation
Course Description: Individuals who complete this program will be able to demonstrate essential skills of homeless services Care Coordinator by mastering the necessary skills to effectively assess navigate and connect people experiencing homelessness to housing and supportive services.
This five day, 35-hour course will instruct the following topics:
Day 1: Landscape of Homelessness in Los Angeles County
Day 2: Core functions of Homeless Case Management
Day 3: Morning :Boundaries, Ethics and Cultural Awareness
Day 3: Afternoon: Housing and Benefits
Day 4: Effective Practices
Day 5: Health, Thriving in the Community & Navigating the System
Course Measurement:
This course is measured through a pre and post-test, and participant demonstration of group activities and exercises that reinforce the learning objectives of each module.
Pre-requisites: None
Completion: A certificate of completion and a 35 hours credit of title will be awarded to participants that complete the course.
Who should attend: Homeless services staff who have worked at their agency between 0-3 months are being prioritized for this year of no cost training.
