Incarceration & Reentry

Since the realignment of California’s criminal justice system, the County of Los Angeles has played a larger role in the incarceration and reentry into their communities of people convicted of felonies. This workshop is designed for homeless services case managers who work with or are assigned to jail in-reach projects and housing programs for formerly incarcerated individuals. Day 1 focuses on trauma-informed care and effective practices for people that have experienced the criminal justice system and on the crimogenic factors that must be considered along with life domains in doing assessments and case planning with clients.

Day 2 addresses the criminal justice system and the services, programs, and resources available to support the effort of people working toward successful reentry. Please join us for this jam-packed two-day workshop that prepares participants to help address the reentry needs of people serving time in jails and those that have recently been released from prisons and jails.
