Health care delivery alternatives for
self-insuring employers
More than 64 percent of people with employer-sponsored health plans are now covered by self-funding, and that percentage is expected to climb as employers with 50 and fewer employees select to self-fund their benefits.
This growth is due in large part to the flexibility that self-funded employers have when it comes to benefit programs. They allow the employer to better control benefit coverage, incentivize cost-efficient access to care, reduce what is being spent on benefits, ensure access to meaningful data for analysis, and support wellness initiatives.
This also means new opportunities for physician practices. Local employers are using private practice urgent care networks, physician-staffed on-site and shared-site clinics, and telehealth as affordable alternatives to the costly employee visit to the hospital emergency department.
Learn about the latest support services for local physicians who care for the employees of self-funded companies at this presentation.
