The Most Reverend
Salvatore J. Cordileone
Archbishop of San Francisco

 

On March 23, 2009, Pope Benedict XVI appointed Bishop Cordileone as the fourth Bishop of Oakland. His Mass of Installation was celebrated on May 5, 2009 at the Cathedral of Christ the Light, Oakland. Three years later, on July 27, 2012, he was appointed the Archbishop of San Francisco and was installed on October 4, 2012, the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, at the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption.

As the new Metropolitan Archbishop of the Province of San Francisco, Archbishop Cordileone received the pallium from Pope Francis in Rome on June 29, 2013.

Archbishop Cordileone chairs the Subcommittee for the Promotion and Defense of Marriage and sits on the Committee for Canonical Affairs. He is a member of the Board of Trustees, Catholic University of America; the Governing Board of the International Theological Institute; and the Subcommission on the Liturgy for the Anglican Ordinariates.

Archbishop Cordileone’s avocations include a life-long interest in jazz music. He also enjoys swimming, hiking and badminton, as well as spectator sports, especially professional baseball and football.

Michael O'Neill

 

Michael O'Neill is an author, speaker, and creator of the website MiracleHunter.com, the web's top resource on Marian apparitions cited in news articles and blogs around the world and throughout renowned Mariologist Fr. René Laurentin's comprehensive work "The Dictionary of the Apparitions of the Virgin Mary" (2010 Edizioni ART). O'Neill, a graduate of Stanford University and member of the Mariological Society of America, has been interviewed about his research numerous times for features on Catholic television programs like EWTN's News Nightly and Bookmark and secular media like Fox News, Live Science and Stanford Magazine.  He was a consultant for the National Geographic December 2015 cover story and map about the Virgin Mary "The Most Powerful Woman in the World" and was interviewed as the Marian expert on the corresponding television piece for NatGeo Explorer.  O'Neill served as the expert commentator during the 2010 live broadcast of the media coverage of the first and only apparition approval of a Marian apparition in the United States in Champion, WI. He is the host of the weekly Relevant Radio program "The Miracle Hunter™" and regular weekly contributor to the Drew Mariani Show.  His books include "365 Days with Mary" (Salt Media 2014) and "Exploring the Miraculous" (Our Sunday Visitor 2015).  O'Neill co-hosted the television special Miracle Hunters (UpTV 2014) and is the creator of the new EWTN docuseries "Miracles" about the canonization miracles of the saints airing in 2016.
