The Center of Law and Social Work (CLSW) has been preserving families, providing hope and protecting lives throughout the State of Illinois since 2003. Our mission is to achieve the best outcomes for families, young adults, and children by providing the highest quality services. We believe that all families, regardless of financial circumstances, should have equal access to legal and social work services in order to remain stable and secure. CLSW manages the Adoption Listing Service for the State of Illinois and provides relative, non-relative, second parent, step-parent, adoption services as well as DCFS foster parent adoption and post adoption services. Since 2017, CLSW has provided counseling and advocacy for survivors of college campus sexual assault through our Porchlight Counseling Services program.

All funds raised through CLSW’s Greenlight Gala 2020 will be in support of our mission. Marion Brooks, NBC5 News Anchor, will once again be our Master of Ceremonies. Supporters of CLSW will enjoy cocktails in the beautiful tented ballroom of Galleria Marchetti while taking a chance on the CLSW raffle and Wine Pull. During the seated dinner, CLSW will be presenting our 2020 Impact Awards to Kelley Kitley, LCSW and Adrian Charniak. Kelley is the author of 'MY Self', an autobiography of survival, the host of SHE CAGO podcast, and a women's mental health expert who has appeared in hundreds of publications, podcasts, live news, and radio including WGS, NBC, The Chicago Tribune, Huffington Post, Self, Shape, and more. Kelley has shared her experience, strength, and hope on national media outlets such as Dr. Oz, Access Live, and as a TEDx speaker.

The Center for Law and Social Work is proud to be recognizing Adrian Charniak with the 2020 Impact Award. Adrian is a devoted mother, grandmother, and a fierce advocate for Grandparents Raising Grandchildren. Adrian started as an advocate in 1998, the year her grandson was born with cocaine in his system. In 2006, she was instrumental in drafting the Fostering Connections to Success and Increasing Adoptions Act of 2008 which was signed into law by President George W. Bush on October 7, 2008. The law made numerous positive changes to the child welfare system, mostly thanks to Title IV-E of the Social Security Act, which covers federal payments to states for foster care and adoptions assistance.

The awards program will be followed by a one of a kind Live Auction filled with many exciting prizes.

Please join us and make a difference in the lives of at-risk children and young adults in Illinois!
