Level II Puppetry for the Early Childhood Classroom

Sock puppets are easy to create and bring warmth and focus to the classroom. Giant puppets are wonderful ways to introduce pageantry and performance. This workshop is designed to give educators hands-on training in using both forms of puppetry as interactive tools for learning.
What can I expect to gain from this workshop?
- Learn to use sock puppets and large puppets to strengthen cooperation and coordination, develop language skills, and address emotional and social challenges
- Develop advanced skills in performance and interaction with puppets
- Learn techniques for building sock puppets and three-person puppets in the classroom
Participants will explore how to construct their own puppets and to identify how the creation process can become a student-centered learning experience.
Who should attend?
Early childhood educators who have attended CAT's Level I Course: We Have Puppets. Now What?? , and anyone who is interested in developing more advanced skills in puppetry.
