Course Description
This course offers a multi-disciplined approach to the study of security management in preparation for taking the ASIS International’s Certified Protection Professional (CPP) Examination. The course is based on the eight (8) domains of the CPP Examination including tasks, knowledge and skills.
Course Objectives
Instructional Methods
The 2019 CPP Review Course is a mentor-directed course where lectures are minimized and simulations, group discussions and domain-specific presentations via MS Power Point constitute the primary methods of learning.
Mentors and CPP candidates, by combining their collective resources, talents and experience, and by distributing learning responsibilities accordingly, are able to cover more material than could be achieved through individual effort. Mentors are responsible for conducting a group presentation to the class.

A Note from the Director:
On behalf of the Certified Protection Professional (CPP) mentors, and ASIS International-Region 1D, welcome to the 2019 ASIS Region 1D – CPP Review Course.
This is a key step in preparation to join the more than 8,000 professionals who are ASIS Board Certified in Security Management. This group of professionals have recognized competency in the field of security solutions and best-business practices through an intensive qualification and testing program. As a result, these men and women have been awarded the coveted designation of CPP and are recognized as proven leaders in their profession.
The CPP has been awarded a special designation by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) under the Support Anti-Terrorism by Fostering Effective Technology (SAFETY) Act of 2002. The CPP has also been awarded accreditation by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
The CPP Review Course is open to all security and law enforcement professionals but it is primarily focused for CPP eligible candidates, (please check the ASIS website for CPP prerequisite standards). Others who may find the program beneficial include security practitioners who want to review fundamental concepts of security, managers who have recently assumed security responsibilities, and individuals seeking a better overall knowledge of the security industry.
The course mentors are dedicated to helping you achieve your CPP designation. However, you must commit to the necessary research and study, so you’ll be prepared to pass this comprehensive exam. Good luck with all your professional endeavors, and especially with passing your CPP exam!
