We are excited to announce that over 20 Colleges and Universities will be represented at The Northeast Cheer Leader Magazine College Recruitment Clinic, Powered by Cheer360! To best serve the athletes in attendance and provide for a highly enjoyable experience, only a limited number of spots will be available. Athletes will have one of a kind access to meet the coaches and collegiate athletes from College and Universities from all across the United States.

 

The 2-day event, June 9th and 10th, will be held at Hofstra Fitness 235 Hofstra University Hempstead, NY) at the state of the art Health, Sports and Education Center.

 

This event is open to incoming high school freshmen, current high school students, and any athlete looking to transfer colleges. Family, friends and coaches are welcome to attend the event as spectators at no extra cost.

 

The potential college cheerleaders will:

  • Work with the current college cheerleaders (some representing 5 different Collegiate National Championship teams) on stunts
  • Showcase their tumbling skills
  • Meet directly with the coaches during the scheduled information session
  • Athlete academic and cheer resumes are encouraged, as all coaches in attendance will receive athlete contact information
  • Meet colleges representing the region and from across the country
  • Learn from Cheer360, who will be on site providing the athletes with strength, nutrition and mental fitness tips that will help them excel at the collegiate level

 

Below are the Colleges that attended last year.  We are receiving confirmations from colleges continually and will post an updated list beginning of April so all information is correct.  We have so far received more than we have received than last year so we are so excited!  This is a great clinics for all athletes and parents looking to learn information on how to cheer in college.

 Colleges and Universities that sent active recruiters from last year: University of Kentucky, University of Alabama, University of Louisville, Liberty University, Saint John’s University, Hofstra University, Wilmington University, University of Delaware, Morehead State University, Nassau County Community College, Long Island University, University of West Georgia, Keene State College, Suffolk County Community College, Adelphi University, and many more to come, (check back as we will be adding more)!

 

Clinic Schedule

Saturday, June 9th, Stunt Clinic Prep (8:30 am Check in, 10:30am-12:30pm)  This clinic is open to anyone who is looking to learn and practice COED and All GIrl Stunting Skills with TCLM Staff Open to middle school, high school, and college athletes.  Attending the clinic prep is a good way to practice your skills before the recruitment clinic.  This clinic is open to all ages.  

Saturday, June 9th, Recruitment Clinic, Day 1 (12:30pm check in, 1:30pm-6pm): Recruitment clinic day-1 opening. Athlete information will be confirmed during check in. Any additional information will be handed out. Non-Spring/hard floor tumbling and stunts will be performed at this event. College coaches and recruiters will be conducting on-site evaluations. Open table information sessions will end the day. For incoming freshmen and older.   Spectators are welcomed at no extra cost.

 

Sunday: June 10th, Recruitment Clinic Day 2 (9:00am check in, 9:30am-12:30pm): Non-Spring/hard floor tumbling and stunts will be performed at this event. College coaches and recruiters will be conducting on-site evaluations. Open table information sessions will end the day.  For incoming freshmen and older and two day registered athletes only.

 

About The Cheer Leader Magazine: Jamie and Drew Bewley have over 30 years of combined cheerleading industry knowledge. Both cheered at the National Champion University of Kentucky. Since creating the Cheer Leader Magazine, they have launched TCLM stunt clinics, which have served over 500+ communities in the past 5 years.
