Topic:
Everyone in our congregations knows that the cross is important. But do we know why? As it turns out, the meaning and significance of the cross has been debated throughout Christian history. In this class, we'll prepare to offer our people a deeper understanding and appreciation of the enduring significance of the cross by looking at three majore ways the church has tried to understand it. We'll also shift our attention from merely understanding the cross to actually experiencing it. Throughout, we'll orient ourselves to the materials in the Making Sense of the Cross course so that we can use this resource in our congregations for adult education and enrichment.
