Tuesday, December 3rd, 2019 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM
As part of the Senior Issues Committee's stated goal of being intentional about addressing senior needs, this workshop will look at the challenge of services that allow seniors to age in their homes. In addition to the previous topics of food access and transportation, and excluding medical needs, there are several very practical aspects of maintaining a private residence that can be challenging for seniors.
This workshop will feature remarks from James Bennett, the Owner and Manager of Upstate Home Care Solutions, followed by a moderated panel discussion that will cover a range of topics relating to this issue.
Panelists will include:
Dorinne Dubois, Homecare Manager for Appalachian Council of Governments
Vee Daniel, President & CEO of Better Business Bureau of the Upstate
Annette Cook, Director of Senior Adult Ministries for Christ Church Episcopal
Dayle Stewart, Assistant Director of Rebuild Upstate
This is the fourth and final workshop to be hosted in 2019. The purpose is to educate and raise awareness to a variety of community stakeholders. This will create an opportunity to begin a much larger discussion of senior issues at a regional level.
