CALLING ALL UNITED WAY VOLUNTEERS

United Way of Linn County has a great opportunity for you to get to know and serve your local community as a volunteer to review applications for our 2019-2020 funding allocations.

What:

Volunteers will review funding requests from various local human service agencies, discuss the impact of the program to the community, the program’s alignment with United Way goals, and ultimately make funding recommendations from dollars raised across Linn County to the United Way Board of Directors.

When:

The community allocations process will span three evenings in April.

  • Volunteer Training: April 9th from 4-6pm
    • Volunteers will be trained on the allocations process and learn about expectations of the volunteer role.
    • Volunteers will get access to a secure link for access to the non-profit agency applications to be reviewed before Allocations Night. Volunteers should come prepared for discussion, recommendations, and questions they may have.
  • Allocations Night 1: April 16th from 4-6pm
    • Volunteer will engage in conversations about which programs to fund across Linn County and will have the opportunity to ask questions about specific programs.
  • Allocations Night 2: April 18th from 4-6pm
    • Final recommendations will be drafted by the volunteers to submit to the United Way Board for approval.

Volunteers are encouraged to attend all 3 dates.
