2021 Day of Safety & The Competition

Summary

Please join us for this fun, two-part, Day of Safety. The day will begin with education sessions including: Chipper Safety, Chainsaw Safety, Life Support Gear Inspection, and Stop the Bleed Training. Stay to compete for the ArborMaster Prize Package! Limited to 40 Participants. $45 member, $80 non-member. Includes lunch and a t-shirt! 5 CEUs in process.

8:00-9:00 Chainsaw Safety - 1 CEU – Rip Tompkins

9:00-10:00 Life Support Gear Inspection – 1 CEU – Bruce Duffy & Kenny Brodin

10:00-10:15 BREAK

10:15-11:15 Chipper Safety – 1.0 CEU – TBD

11:15-12:15 Stop the Bleed Training – 1 CEU—Bud Neal

12:15-1:00 LUNCH

1:00-2:00 Proper Tree Planting Techniques – 1.0 CEU – Tom Morra

2:00-4:00 The Competition

Participants will be grouped into teams of four. All of the events will take place on the ground. An overall male and female winner will be determined based on overall time. The winners will each receive the  ArborMaster Prize Package! Additional prizes will be awarded including team scores and best overall in each event.

EVENTS

Rake Off - an obstacle course
Flake Off - return climbing line to a rope bag for time
Throw Line - targets will be on the ground
Knot Board - tie the assigned knot for accuracy and time
Port-a-Wrap - set up completed for time

 

$45 Member, $80 Non-Member (includes a 1 year chapter membership)
