Refreshing Your Blog

snail on laptopYou've been blogging for a while now. How's that working for you and your communications goals? If you're struggling to come up with and maintain your blog's content, running out of ideas again and again, or just want to refresh your mindset and your mechanisms for blogging going forward, this is the workshop for you. In a half-day session, you'll learn:

  • Current trends in blogging. Blogging's as strong as trend as online video, yet we take its strengths for granted. Find out the latest data on blogging today, and get new ideas for how you can keep putting it to work for you.
  • How to plan ahead for content so you never run out of ideas. Blogs demand a steady feed of content to be successful (and yes, you'll get more traffic with more frequent posts). I've got some formulas and tactics to help you generate ideas and put them into an editorial calendar, so you never run out.
  • Adding and maintaining recurring features and series. Smartly planned recurring features and series can help you boost your results in search engines, turn your blog into a reference source with repeat visitors, and even help you spin off e-books and other products. I'll share my tricks for recurring features and series to help you gain all these advantages.
  • Using a blog as the basecamp for your entire social media strategy. Blogs done right can create lots of content. If you make your blog your social media basecamp, it can help organize the rest of your posts on social networks, with content flowing from your blog to social networks. And you can do the reverse, repurposing social posts, comments and more as content for the blog.

This half-day training in Washington, DC, includes lunch and takeaway resources. The session is centrally located near Metro and parking. Take advantage of our early registration discount: Early registration for this workshop is just $200 until May 9, 2013 and $225 thereafter; all registration closes May 23, 2013. Before you register, please read our workshop FAQ and cancellation policy. By registering, you agree that you have read and agree to these policies.
