Purpose of the Group
This monthly clinical consultation group is for therapists and counselors who are seeking collegial consultation and support from fellow peers. Gestalt clinical supervision is a collaborative process where discussions evolve within a gestalt framework around such topics as ethics, case consultations, professional and personal growth and more as the group develops and grows together.
The IGI perspective is that we can't help guide a person to a place that we haven't been ourselves. We will achieve this in the consult group by co-creating a place not only to discuss difficult cases, but also to obtain new resources, learn new skills, work on our polarities and receive support.
Whether you're a student who is just beginning your journey into this profession, or a seasoned practitioner with years of experience, clinical supervision can assist you to deal effectively with transference and countertransference issues, address and prevent vicarious trauma and compassion fatigue, and get new perspectives on the direction of treatment with your clients.
The group will begin August 7th and will meet the first Friday of each month from 10:00-11:30. The cost is $35 and the minimum commitment is 6 sessions (9 CE credits awarded). Space is limited and participation requires the latest version of Skype (download free), a high-speed connection, a microphone and speakers (likely built-in to your device). Charlie is available to help you with the set-up.
