Please join the Oregon Chapter of the ACC and Tonkon Torp LLP on May 30 at NIKE World Headquarters to learn practical advice about mergers and acquisitions from an expert panel with experience from a wide range of companies.
Christopher is an Executive in Residence with Intel Capital’s M&A team. Previously he was the General Manager of Intel’s Wearable Devices team, focused on Head Worn/Augmented Reality (AR) Products within Intel’s New Devices Group and acquired 3 companies in the process of developing the group. Christopher has been with Intel for 22 years and has had held various leadership positions across Intel’s Enterprise, Mobile and Consumer segments. He has demonstrated leadership in developing new market segments and has led programs to ensure the industry adoption of new technologies including holding numerous board memberships on multiple industry standards bodies. Christopher has 25+ years of experience in the technology industry spanning all aspects of the product lifecycle from R&D through distribution, sales and customer support.
Doug is a Senior Attorney at Standard Insurance Company and focuses his practice on the company’s governance, mergers and acquisitions, corporate purchasing and investments, intellectual property, and information security and privacy matters. Prior to joining The Standard, Doug was an attorney in the Corporate, Finance and Securities group at Stoel Rives LLP. A Portland native, Doug is a graduate of Stanford University and the Northwestern School of Law at Lewis & Clark College.
After graduating from Columbia Law School in 1994, David worked as acommercial litigator in New York City until 1999, when he moved to Oregon to work as Louisiana-Pacific Corporation’s Director of Litigation. Prior to joining Columbia Helicopters in 2010, David worked as one of two in-house lawyers at Evergreen Aviation, where his portfolio included Evergreen’s helicopter, unmanned, and ground services companies. From 2008 to 2012, David co-taught the Environmental Insurance Coverage seminar at Lewis & Clark Law School. As the General Counsel of Columbia Helicopters, David manages all legal services, oversees the company’s ITAR and FCPA compliance programs, supervises the contract management team, and serves as corporate secretary.
Stuart is the Associate General Counsel for Supply Chain Operations and Alliances for HP Inc. Stuart has spent much of the last twenty two years working in various capacities in the legal department of HP Inc. and its predecessor corporation. Highlighted roles include acting as the company’s first Global Competition Counsel and as the Chief Legal Officer for HP Networking and its then PRC based subsidiary H3C Technology. He has been involved in over 30 acquisitions and divestitures including HP’s split into HP Inc. and Hewlett Packard Enterprise in 2015. Stuart’s current team supports HP’s relationships with critical supply partners and commercial aspects of HP’s Sustainability initiatives on a worldwide basis. Stuart is a graduate of Yale College and UCLA School of Law. He is also a longtime board member of the Oregon Chapter of the ACC.
As a member, and recent past Chair, of the firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions Practice Group, Sherrill counsels clients on buying and selling businesses, and structuring complex joint ventures. As a member of Tonkon’s Corporate Finance & Transactions Practice Group, she advises clients on bank financings, private placements, and public offerings. Sherrill also represents public companies and advises them on securities compliance, corporate governance matters, and follow-on offerings. Sherrill also serves on Tonkon Torp’s Managing Board. Tom specializes in securities and corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, and private placements. General corporate counseling — including representation of special committees of directors, corporate governance issues, and SEC reporting and disclosure matters — is an important part of his practice.
