The Palmer Arts Council Summer Theatre Academies for Youth is a concentrated six week program for youth, ages 8 through Middle School, who have an active interest in stage performance. Under the leadership of Anne Benson, participants will learn many skills necessary to become stage performers. Skills include script memorization, voice, movement, improvisation, and stage craft, such as lights, sound, and set design and construction. The program is divided into three two-week sessions, students have the option of taking one, two, or all three sessions. At the end of each two week session, the participants will present a public stage performance on a Friday evening.
Eligible Participants: Youth age 8 through Middle School
Dates: Session 1: June 5-16, Session 2: June 19-30, Session 3: July 10-21
Times: Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m (Participant should bring lunch)
Location: Sherrod Elementary School
Tuition: $275 per person per session. There is a break in price when registering siblings or participating in more than one session. Some need based partial and full scholarships are available.
