REGISTRATION DEADLINE: WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 18, 2013

Fundamentals in Fundraising is designed for professionals with 0 to 4 years of fundraising experience.  The course is composed of 7 modules that were designed by experienced fundraising professionals to meet the real-world needs and challenges nonprofit organizations face every day.  This 16-hour program includes case studies and excercises for groups and individuals to make the learning experience both substantive and enjoyable. 

Fundamentals in Fundraising offers a complete overview of the development function, featuring the most current information and techniques.  Topics include:

  •  Developing an Integrated Fundraising Program
  • Marketing for Ongoing Success
  • Building and Sustaining Relationships
  • Securing the Gift
  • Volunteers – Partners in Fundraising

We are privileged to have our own chapter members, Marcy Heim and Boris Frank, as our featured presenters.  Both are seasoned fundraising professionals who share their knowledge with enthusiasm and humor.  See for yourself how rewarding a career in fundraising can be!

MARCY HEIM

Marcy Heim, CFRE, is an author, coach for fundraising leadership, staff and key volunteers who are transforming the world by encouraging philanthropy for their missions.  She helps organizations and educational institutions uplevel their major gift programs through artful, long-term relationship building dramatically increasing fundraising success AND promoting staff job satisfaction.  Her teaching reflects over twenty years of firsthand, in-the-trenches, major gift fundraising and management experience where she and her team raised millions of dollars by creating the genuine relationships she promotes in her presentations.

BORIS FRANK

Boris has been a consultant for over 50 years, since l982 as President of his own firm, primarily in the areas of fundraising and development, nonprofit management and strategic planning. He has served as planning, fundraising and management consultant for more than 500 nonprofit organizations.

He recently completed 2-years as Executive Director of The Friends of the Zoo.

Boris teaches for The University of Wisconsin and Madison College. Over 35,000 have attended his nonprofit management courses.

From 1964 to 1982 he was on the faculty of The University of Wisconsin, serving as Manager of Administration and Producer/Director for public TV station WHA. Prior to that, he worked in commercial TV as a Producer/Director, and as Manager of the International Broadcast Division of Screen Gems, Manager of Caribbean Operations for Bartell Broadcasting and Executive Assistant to TV and Broadway producer 

Cost is $390 for AFP members; $490 for non-members

AFP Greater Madison Cancellation and Refund Policy

In order for AFP Greater Madison to confirm meals and seating with the venue, cancellations must be received in writing via email or U.S. mail at least 48 business hours before the start of an event to be eligible for a full refund. No refunds will be made for requests received after that time, or by other means.  You may always send an alternate to an event without additional charge.
Refunds will be issued in the same form payment was made. Please allow two weeks for processing.
