Each year, there are many time-honored traditions observed around the world during the month of December, but even the most famous of those, like National Cat Herding Day or National Cupcake Day are eclipsed by the grandest tradition of all…The day that The Gnomes Come to Local Brew Coffeehouse!! It’s hard to believe that it’s been a whole year since they graced our stage! (Actually, that’s because it’s only been 7 months. Their December 2017 show was snowed out and they had to reschedule for April.) If you were lucky, you caught “A Trio of Gnomes” at this year’s Local Brew Fiddle Festival, Here’s your chance to see the whole band together again with their repertoire of musical genres that includes Celtic, Scandinavian, Eastern European, Asian, African, Caribbean, Klezmer, and Native American music. The band's members are some of Rhode Island's best known musicians: Head Gnome - Phil Edmonds (Irish whistle and button accordion); Cathy Clasper-Torch (fiddle, keyboard, er-hu, vocals); Mike Fischman (guitar, mandolin, bouzouki, banjo, vocals); Peter Breen (bass, vocals); and Matt Demick (percussion/drums).
Drownville Station, the new Local Brew house band will kick off the night’s music! With set lists that include originals and songs from Lou Reed to The Young Adults, you never know what to expect!
