 This day-long conference is open to the public and provides a rare opportunity to hear three nationally-renowned authors and historians.  Each presentation will provide ample time for Q&A.  Read more about the speakers:

Jeffrey D. Wert, well known as a Civil War historian, is the author of eight books on Civil War topics, most recently Cavalryman of the Lost Cause and The Sword of Lincoln.  His articles and essays on the Civil War have appeared in many publications, including Civil War Times Illustrated, American History Illustrated, and Blue and Gray.   A former history teacher at Penns Valley High School, he lives in Centre Hall, PA, slightly more than one hour from the battlefiled at Gettysburg.

Les Standiford is the bestselling author of over twenty books including Meet You in Hell:  Andrew Carnegie, Henry Clay Frick and the Bitter Partnership that Transformed America.  He is Director of the Creative Writing Program at Florida International University in Miami, Florida.    

Paul Rosier, is Associate Professor of History at Villanova University (Villanova, PA) where he teaches American Environmental History, Global Environmental History, and Atlantic World Environmental History.   He also serves on the President's Environmental Sustainability Committee at Villanova, and chairs the annual University Earth Day Celebration.  The author of several books and articles, his latest essay, entitled "Modern America Desperately Needs to Listen':  The Emerging  Indian in an Age of Environmental Crisis, " will be published in The Journal of American History in December 2013.
