Tryout Representives
We will have representatives from West Liberty University, Wheeling Jesuit University, and Alan Robbins (owner of 1st University baseball Academy and former Philadelphia Phillies minor leaguer) the day of the try outs to help judge the athletes.
TA Baseball Showcase and Travel Teams are something completely different than anything offered in the area. All of our showcase and travel teams will be trained through the TA Baseball developmental program 10 months out of the year. We express the importance of professional instruction and physical preparation throughout every team. It does not matter if you are on a showcase team or travel team you are required to participate in our development program as we all strive to play at a higher level. Our primary goal for our Showcase teams is not to just attend travel tournaments around the country, but to DEVELOP and TEACH our players by intense instruction and practice in the offseason at a very high level. All to often teams simply play 2-4 months of baseball and the teaching is over. Baseball is a sport of repetition, trying to get back into it weeks before the season isn't a sufficient way to become a consistent player. Our goal is to change that!
TA Baseball travel teams and showcase teams will have the opportunity to participate in the TA Baseball Player Development Training program. Player Development Training is a rigorous training program created and instructed by TA Baseball instructors Corey Walter and Justin Edwards. Twice a week TA Baseball team members will participate in Player Development Training for one hour per training session, or once a week in a two hour session. Training will be conducted, organized, and taught in a three category approach: Hitting, Fielding and Pitching. For ten months out of the year each TA Baseball member will be participating in over one hundred hours of professional player development training.
