"Broadcaster of the Year"

  Emily Barr is currently the President and CEO of Post-Newsweek Stations, the television broadcasting division of Graham Holdings Company.  Prior to joining Post-Newsweek, Barr served as the President/GM of ABC 7 in Chicago where she helped create a new and innovative digital broadcast, online and wireless network focusing on home, health and lifestyle programming.  The LIVE WELL NETWORK airs on digital stations around the country.  Barr has served two terms as Chairman of the Board for the IBA and currently serves as Director Emeritusfor the IBA Board.  Help IBA congratulate Emily Barr, the first woman to be honored as IBA's Vincent T. Wasilewski "Broadcaster of the Year".

BMI Artist Chris Janson to Perform at 2014 Silver Dome Awards. 


 

Recently names "The New Wave of Country Music" by Billboard Magazine, Chris Janson will appear at IBA's Silver Dome Awards Banquet, sponsored by BMI.

Known for his lastest Billboard Top 40 Hit Song, "Better I Don't," Chris Janson, the dynamic performer, multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter, has been making major waves in the Country Music industry.  Chris has toured with Hank Jr., Lynyrd Skynyrd, among others.  Chris toured over 150 nationwide dates in 2013, 27 appearances at the Grand Ole Opry, appeared on Fox's Huckabee.

Chris has written solgs for Justin Moore, Parmalee, and Tim McGraw.  Noteable songs include:                      "Truck Yeah" for Tim McGraw                                               "Off the Beaten Path" for Justin Moore

Miss Illinois to Attend IBA Silver Dome Awards

Miss Illinois 2014 will make her first official appearance as Miss Illinois at the IBA Silver Dome Awards.  The new Miss Illinois will be crowned the weekend prior to our IBA event at the Miss Illinois Scholarship Pageant in Marion, Illinois.

IBA's one-day sales conference "Training for Success" brings the best training staff in the industry together in one location.  Whether you are new to the media sales game or are a returning veteran you will benefit from this intense training day.  It's tough out there and media sellers need to be operating a peak performance to maximize their opportunities.

IBA2014 sessions are designed to help you get better, build clients, understand your clients, learn new skills to identify new opportunities, increase sales and earn more money in 2014.

Registration rates have been held the same for the last five years as sellers attend all breakout session for just $20 each. At this low price, this ticket does not include meal events but does include all snack and refreshment breaks. Hulvey Each year Mike Hulvey, COO, Neuhoff Media gathers star performers from around the country for IBA's Expert Panel.  This year's panel tackles "Social Media" and features three trainers who are using and making money with social media.  Panelists include:  Erica Pefferman of The Ruckus Group, Missouri; Valerie Elgart, Director of Sales for WMVT-TV, Idaho; and Matt Coen, President of Second Street, Missouri.  Mike Hulvey will moderate this panel that will allow plenty of time for Q&A.

IBA Silver Dome Awards Sponsored by the Illinois Army National Guard and BMI

After a long day of training, IBA invites you to wind down and plan to attend the IBA Silver Dome Award Banquet that recongnizes the "Best in Illinois" broadcasting with over 80 Silver Dome Awards and the IBA Stations of the Year.   Welcome reception begins at 5:30 with the Dinner and Awards begining at 7:00 pm.  Tickets can be purchased individuallyat $50 each or as a table of ten for $450 so the entire station can celebrate.  Tickets are also included in the All-Day Training Pass, just $99.

The Illinois Army National Guard will kick-off the evening with their Minutemen Awards that recongnize station's efforts in supporting the Guard by airing the NCSA/PEP campaigns along with Guard and Veteran activities. 

Silver Dome Co-Hosts Brian Barnhart of WDWS and Jennifer Roscoe of WCIA-TV will keep the awards program moving along so that you all get home by a respectable hour.  The new Miss Illinois will join us for photos with the winners.
