Two-Day Coach Training
The Practice-Based Coaching Training Institute (PBCTI) is an intensive 2-day event intended for coaches implementing the Practice Based Coaching model. During the PBCTI, coaches will learn how to use Practice-Based Coaching to support staff’s use of high-quality teaching and home-visiting practices.

The training content has been expanded to include coaching in center-based, home-based and family child care program options. Discussion will include coaching to fidelity with a emphasis on using research-based teaching practices.
The PBCTI is designed for staff who provide direct coaching to Head Start staff. These coaches may be supporting classroom teachers, home visitors, family child care providers, or others who work directly with children or families. Previously attendance in Practice-Based Coaching: Learning Academy is strongly encouraged.
Barbara Becker, MA, Early Childhood Special Education
Barbara Becker, Early Childhood Specialist, and Infant Toddler Specialist, earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from UCLA and a Masters of Arts in Early Childhood Special Education from George Washington University. A former Head Start parent and award winning adult educator, Ms. Becker has extensive experience and passion for early literacy, family literacy and coaching. She has presented at local and national conferences. Her hallmark is one of collaborative team building with humor and a reflective, growth mindset approach.
Rita Elliott-Greahouse, M.Ed, Early Childhood Specialist
Rita Elliott-Greathouse has over 30 years of early childhood education experience. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management and a Masters degree in Early Childhood Education and Advocacy, both from National Louis University in Chicago. She currently serves in her current position is as an IL Early Childhood Specialist with STG International for the Office of Head Start Training and Technical Assistance Network.
