The Science of Adult Learning

Each August, thousands of new and experienced teachers, family advocates, health staff and administrative staff attend In-Service Training designed to “tune-up and excite” them to welcome a new year. The planning goes on for months prior, the time is planned extensively with care and consideration. But in the end we ask – do they really get it? How meaningful was the content?

During this webinar, the presenter, Dr. Norman Lorenz, will focus on the 5 aspects of adult growth; biological,  physical, emotional, social, and cognitive. We explore how individuals learn in community, use technology, and  experience values and practice these in the work place based PD and the importance of data in planning. Using “How Learning Works: 7 Research -Based Principles for Smart Teaching”, theories, practical ideas, rooted in      research, can enhance your staff training efforts for more thorough implementation.
