This workshop will describe the 4 key components for operating a successful nonprofit organization and will provide case studies on the ways nonprofits use business practices to grow their organizations.

Our Speakers:
Cynthia L. Russell is Principal of CrossSector Partners, a management consulting firm specializing in providing services to nonprofit organizations. Cynthia helps organizations develop growth strategies, obtain funding, and create strong internal systems to operate more efficiently. She has worked with hundreds of organizations throughout her career and has also worked with municipal, state, and federal agencies throughout the U.S. Since 2010 she has been an instructor at Norwalk Community College in the Nonprofit Management Certificate Program.
Angela R. Andersen is Executive Director of the International Institute of Connecticut (IICONN), a 96-year old human service agency that addresses the need to provide new immigrants and refugees in Connecticut with services to help them become self-sufficient, integrated and contributing members of the community. IICONN is a large nonprofit with an operating budget of approximately $1.4 million.
Kate Morrison is co-founders and Treasurer of Safe Haven for Youth Ethiopia (SHYE), a nonprofit organization providing food, aid and education of school children in Ethiopia. SHYE is a small, five-year old organization with an operating budget of approximately $100,000.
