Surgical Management
of the Acute Abdomen
This case-based webinar highlights anatomy, pathophysiology, diagnostic findings, surgical management, and prognosis for three of the most common emergency surgical conditions: gastric dilatation and volvulus, gastrointestinal foreign body obstruction, and hemoabdomen.
Dr. Ericksen is a New Jersey native who completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of Findlay in Findlay, OH. From there, he moved to Blacksburg, VA to pursue his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech and graduated in 2015. Following veterinary school, he pursued additional training and completed both a rotating internship in Chattanooga, TN and a surgical internship in Los Angeles, CA. Dr. Ericksen joined the emergency team at NorthStar VETS in July 2019. His special interests include surgery, critical care medicine and trauma.
