AIA EKC Project Tour-Lexington City Center 

AIA East KY is pleased to offer our members an opportunity for continuing education (1.5 AIA LU) in conjunction with a tour of the new Lexington City Center Development.

President of Bristol Group, Inc., Todd Ball, will guide the group and discuss the design inspiration for the facility's precast structural system and design-build delivery. This process has allowed them to utilize approximately one-third of the labor force and complete the construction in half the time required for conventional construction. John Pennington (VP of Construction Operations), James Crowley, AIA (VP of Design) and TJ Chin (Project Manager) will also assist in leading the video presentation of the building structural system, discussing the process and tight schedule for the City Center development. 

Learning objectives:

• Discuss and observe the unique precast structural systems utilized in the construction of the multi-level hotel facilities.
• Discuss how evolving owner partnerships on private projects may affect program, delivery methods, budget, and scope of work.
• Describe the role of the architect and contractor in helping brand a high profile, multi-use development in the heart of a major downtown area.  
• Explain how multi-phased design and construction plans are achieved with regards to documentation, permitting, and bidding / building.
