Best Practices for Schools & Community Agencies 

City Connects is pleased to announce our first-ever conference on Optimized Student Support. On Friday, November 5, educators, administrators, researchers, and community agency leaders will gather at Boston College to discuss Best Practices for Schools & Community Agencies.

With the support of the New Balance Foundation, the conference will provide a forum for presentations, discussions, questions, and networking as we address critical ways to optimize support for elementary school students:

• How do social contexts influence the out-of-school factors that impact learning?
• What evidence-based models exist?
• What characterizes excellent student support from the perspective of community agencies? Of district leaders? Of the Commonwealth?
• How can health, an often-overlooked but essential component to supporting student achievement and thriving, be integrated most powerfully into student support?
• What does delivery of optimized student support look like on the ground--in districts and schools?

City Connects eagerly anticipates the conversations and debates that this conference will engender and invites the participation of everyone who shares our commitment to ensuring that all children can come to school ready to learn and thrive.
