This Veterans Day make plans to pay tribute to the military members who defend our freedom by attending a living history luncheon at the Quidnessett Country Club. For the fourth year, The Quidnessett Country Club, 630WPRO & 99.7FM, AM790, 92PROFM and Lite Rock 105 are partnering with area businesses to raise money to benefit Operation Stand Down Rhode Island's Cpl. Holly Charette Home.
The Women Warriors 2015 Luncheon at the Quidnessett Country Club will honor the many selfless women who have served our country and feature three female warrior panelists and key speaker whose stories of leadership and service will be motivational to everyone in attendance. This is the fifth year of the luncheon and it has become a marquee event for Rhode Islanders to celebrate Veterans Day. Tickets are $50.00 Per Person.
The Marine CPL Holly Charette Home is owned and operated by Operation Stand Down Rhode Island. The home was opened in July of 2010 and became Rhode Island’s first and only transitional housing for homeless female veterans. The home houses six female veterans at any one time. It is dedicated in honor of Marine CPL Holly Charette who lost her life on 23 June 2005 when her convoy was struck by a suicide bomber in the Anbar province of Falujuah, Iraq. Hailing from Cranston, RI, Marine CPL Charette is Rhode Island’s first female killed in Iraq.

ABOUT OPERATION STAND DOWN RHODE ISLAND
Operation Stand Down Rhode Island (OSDRI) is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and Rhode Island’s primary nonprofit resource for homeless and at-risk veterans. Founded in 1993 and headquartered in Johnston, OSDRI’s mission is to help homeless and at-risk veterans secure stable housing.
Ending the cycle of veteran homelessness, and preventing it, requires much more than providing a roof over the head of an individual veteran or veteran family. To achieve this goal, OSDRI offers a wide range of life-changing services including supportive permanent and transitional housing, intensive case management, basic human needs assistance (for example, food and clothing) and an employment training and placement program.
OSDRI works hand in hand with almost every major state and federal agency as well as community organizations and employers to provide seamless referrals to outside sources of assistance.
