Georgia Writers Association's August 11th Event
Please join GWA and Joey Weiser for our August 11th event from 12-2 at the KSU Center, Room 300.
Joey Weiser is the author of the Eisner Award-nominated MERMIN graphic novel series from Oni Press, named a “Book All Young Georgians Should Read” by The Georgia Center for the Book. His comics work ranges from writing and drawing for SPONGEBOB COMICS to coloring the JEDI ACADEMY: A NEW CLASS series. His first graphic novel, THE RIDE HOME, was published in 2007 by AdHouse Books. He is a graduate of the Savannah College of Art & Design and currently lives in Athens, Georgia.
JOEY WEISER: A CAREER IN COMICS
Georgia Book Award-winning cartoonist Joey Weiser speaks about his work, from early inspirations and initially becoming a published author to completing a five-volume graphic novel series and beyond! He will also cover how he writes and draws his comics, including a step-by-step look at the process of drawing a comic page from his series, MERMIN. There will be time for questions and an opportunity to purchase Weiser’s books after the presentation.
