New Jersey Taxes for Small Business

 

Do you own a small business in New Jersey, or are you thinking of doing so in the near future?  Would you like to know more about how to meet your responsibilities under New Jersey tax law? Attend this FREE half-day Small Business Workshop presented by the New Jersey Division of Taxation, designed just for you!

This workshop will include the following topics:

  • Registering your business with New Jersey’s Division of Taxation, Division of Revenue and Department of Labor
  • Filing Sales and Use Tax Returns
  • Meeting employer responsibilities
  • Reporting business income

Division personnel will explain proper procedures for collecting and remitting various New Jersey taxes. A focal point of the workshop is the sales tax responsibilities of small businesses including the description of taxable and exempt sales and services. Discussions will also highlight different types of business ownership and the tax consequences of each one

Our Presenters:

D. Alexis DeRosa, Taxpayer Service Representative, NJ Division of Taxation

Alexis provides various presentations and workshops on taxes and programs administrated by the NJ Division of Taxation.  She began her career with the Division as a Call Center Agent in 2001.  She has since worked with the Customer Service Training Department and has served as the administrator and trainer of the Division's internal training department known as Taxation University.  Her Knowledge of New Jersey tax responsibilities and her experience with Internal Training has given her the opportunity to assist New Jersey residents, small businesses, and tax professionals.

Joyce Olshansky, Taxpayer Service Representative, NJ Division of Taxation

Joyce provides various presentations and workshops on taxes and programs administrated by the NJ Division of Taxation. Joyce began her career with the Division as a Call Center Agent in 2006 and has since worked with the E-Mail Response Unit.  She is a graduate of Trenton State College, now The College of New Jersey.  Prior to joining the Division of Taxation, Joyce was a teacher and elementary school principal.  Joyce's experience has placed her in the Division's Education and Outreach Unit where she can focus on educating the public to beter understand New Jersey's Tax Laws.
